David Luckey is a Ph.D. candidate in Religion and Culture at Southern Methodist University. He holds a Master of Theological Studies from Perkins School of Theology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Dallas Baptist University. His research interests include cultural anthropology and the anthropology of religion; world religions and inter-religious dialogue; theologies of Liberation; and global Pentecostalism(s). His dissertation research centers on the social-ethical dimensions of Pentecostalism among Latin-American communities in Colombia and the U.S. through an exploration and analysis of the ways in which it addresses issues of social justice, and a concomitant examination of the role of ritual and music in the construction of Pentecostal identity.
